Preparation
The quality of a tattoo depends on many factors, one of which is the original condition of your skin. Healthy, firm skin is less damaged during the session, regenerates faster, and allows the tattoo artist to capture even the smallest details.
Here are a few tips to help prepare your skin for a tattoo session:
Start drinking more water a week before your session.
In the weeks leading up to the session, regularly moisturize your skin with cream.
Exfoliation is a great way to remove the top, dry layers of skin. Do 2–3 treatments a week apart.
Try to avoid tanning and sunbeds.
In the summer, use sunscreen on the area where the tattoo will be.
Do not consume alcohol for 2 days before the session.
The night before the session, go to bed early and get a good night’s sleep — you’ll need your energy.
On the day of the session, take a shower and clean the area where the tattoo will be — whether it’s the ear or the back.
Plan where you’ll get food during the day.
Think positively.

Moles
It is not recommended to cover the body with moles — they can seriously affect the composition of the tattoo. They may also remain uncovered or be interrupted in undesirable places. If you have large or numerous moles in the area where the tattoo will be, the best solution is to have them removed beforehand, if the tattoo design requires it.
Scars
If you plan to cover a scar with a tattoo, make sure it is fully healed, has an even skin tone, and is not covered by a network of blood vessels. Depending on the situation, full healing of a scar can take 1 to 3 years. If the scar is raised, covering it with a tattoo may be problematic — in such cases, it’s better to consider surgical correction beforehand.
Hairs
If there is hair in the area of your future tattoo, the tattoo artist will shave it just before the session. You can also shave yourself at home, but be careful — cuts can significantly complicate the tattooing process.
